Social Networking In Your Blog Niche
Social Networking - The importance of linklove for the growth of new blogs
A couple of days ago i received an email asking if there was a particular reason why i was linking to popular blogs and blog posts within my chosen niche and what benefits it has provided, if you didn’t notice this then you can take a look at my Introduction to Blog Me Famous and My template earnings for May here, you will see various links going offsite to other blogs.
What are we talking about?
Social Networking, a valuable marketing and promotions technique that every blogger or website owner can implement in a bid to increase the awareness of a blog within your chosen niche. The technique of ‘Social Networking’ can result in improved RSS subscriber numbers, increased reach for your blog and perhaps most importantly, forming relationships with established bloggers in your niche.
The techniques i implemented on Blog Me Famous?
- Linking to popular blogs and blog posts across my niche
As mentioned above, i linked to various blogs across the blogosphere in a prominent position on the blog post, usually coming in as an introduction to an article or making up the main content of a post, for instance ‘About Me, The Blogs That I Favor’
The benefits of this?
Creating trackbacks on articles can provide a great means of traffic not to mention getting the attention of blog owners. Increasing awareness of your blog is something that needs continuos promotion and gaining the attention of blog owners in your niche can lead to linkbacks, referral’s and possibly being featured in their weekly link roundups.
The Blog Me Famous results…
The past week i have received comments from Kevin Muldoon , Anthony Feint and Matthew Henrickson along with visits from other established blog owners in my niche. In addition to comments, i received a noteworthy link from lorelle’s weekly digest section for my post on guest blogging earlier in the week.
Although the techniques i have used are fairly simple they have provided Blog Me Famous with the awareness that a new blog requires to survive. It’s something that takes little time to introduce to your posts and when starting out blogging it leaves the reader with a good impression seeing comments or trackbacks from popular blogs.
When starting a blog consider using the various techniques mentioned above to increase your traffic and reach as it will provide you with more subscribers, readers and links. if you liked this post why not subscribe to my rss feeds.
